BG Energy Challenge 07- Kazakhstan

In September 2007, in the forests of Zerenda, Northern Kazakhstan, Red Rock delivered BG’s second Energy Challenge to be held in Kazakhstan.

This year’s event saw 31 teams from Kazakhstan’s energy sector compete over a 2 day competition involving a gruelling mountain bike trek, a midnight assault course, navigating boats around the edge of a lake and a final demanding forest run using a GPS to navigate. The event was strong on strategy and team work with an electricity generator needing to be constructed and used to power a display giving the final coordinates for the GPS.

BG Kazakhstan was again able to use the event to increase their company profile internally within the BG Group and externally within the Oil and Gas Sector of Kazakhstan. The BG Energy Challenge continues to provide a unique opportunity to deliver team building, industry networking and to raise funds for charity.

Over $98,000 was raised to help fund the Kazakhstan National Paralympic team athletes to compete in the Beijing Paralympic Games in 2008.

BG have once again commissioned Red Rock for the 2008 event.
