Red Rock International People
Red Rock International has prided itself over the years on its close team of full-time and freelance staff and the increasing network of loyal clients. We hope this page will help you get to know us better.
Nick Ashley - Senior Instructor and Managing Director
Nick founded Red Rock International in 2001 to inspire, challenge and create a supportive community in which clients and staff would have the stimulus to reach their potential.
Nick’s background in engineering, both in the UK and Middle East gave him a solid understanding of corporate working environments and their specific training requirements. He moved out of technical work to focus on people development and has now been developing and delivering innovative training programmes for 18 years.
Nick’s approach is both inspirational and practical. He helps individuals and teams see the areas where they can grow and then works to unlock the barriers which limit performance. In this he is always action oriented and focuses on the changes which will make a difference.
Adventure and community have been central to both Nick’s personal and professional life, from family walks in the UK to mountaineering trips in Morocco.
Joel Aston – Experiential Trainer and Project Manager
Joel has worked with Red Rock International since 2007, designing and delivering courses and events in Egypt, the UK and Central Asia.

He is highly qualified in adventure based training. Joel’s days off normally see him heading to the beach or mountains for kite surfing, ocean-fishing, climbing or mountaineering.
Robert Landon – Senior Trainer and Middle East and Africa Director
Robert is an experienced trainer with a strong track record of developing innovative training with great results. He spends much of his time designing transformational programs that synthesise the best theoretical models with powerful experiential exercises and reviews.
Robert entered the training profession as a freelance instructor having acquired corporate experience through his work as a research chemist in the pharmaceutical industry (GlaxoSmithKline). Having gained qualifications and experience in outdoor and adventure based experiential training he joined Nick to develop Red Rock International as a Director – a position he has held since 2005.
More recently he became RRI Director for the Middle East and Africa, where RRI’s unique approach has received a strong welcome.
